Who We Are
While interning at the famed Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office Valerie recognized the importance of having a skilled defense attorney to help clients take on the power of the police and government. A criminal defense specialist who, for over fifteen years, has consistently achieved positive results for her clients. After graduating from the University of Miami-School of Law, Valerie worked in one of the biggest and busiest markets in the county: Miami, FL. In Miami she gained extensive trial experience trying over 27 cases her first year. Valerie rose quickly through the ranks in Miami and was a felony attorney and ended as a training attorney before moving to Colorado. She was then a Deputy Public Defender in both the Montrose and Denver Trial Offices of the Colorado State Public Defender. Before founding Colerado Law, Valerie was Lead Trial Attorney at Polansky Law Firm, PLLC.
Valerie has assisted thousands of people accused of crimes preserve their dignity and freedom against a wide range of criminal allegations including homicide, assaults, sexual offenses, weapons charges, property crimes, and drug and alcohol-related crimes.
Valerie has also represented clients in a variety of appellate matters including postconviction work including reconsideration of sentences and litigation of postconviction claims.
Valerie's practice focuses on serious felonies and complex litigation. She understands just how significantly criminal accusations can affect a person's day to day life.
From attacking eye-witness identifications and the forensic sciences to resolving a case pretrial, Valerie is adept at litigating the particular issues involved in your criminal case. With experience trying 50+ jury and non-jury trials, negotiating hundreds of case resolutions, and taking hundreds of depositions, Valerie is a vigorous advocate who will fight for you.
